Donington 2004: Dovizioso consolidated lead with another win

Andrea Dovizioso took a clear and dominant victory in the British Grand Prix to consolidate his 125cc World Championship lead at Donington Park. Dovizioso was the only rider from the top five championship contenders to pick up any points at all, with Casey Stoner missing through injury and Hector Barberá, Roberto Locatelli and Pablo Nieto all crashing out.

Alvaro Bautista clinched second place to step onto the podium for the first time in his Grand Prix career, with fellow Spanish teenager Jorge Lorenzo benefiting from Locatelli's crash just three laps from the end to return to the rostrum in third.

The win saw Dovizioso extending his lead to 32 points ahead of Locatelli going into the four-week break.
