- Mika Kallio starts from pole position for the seventh time in 2005 and for the fifth successive race. The last rider to have five successive poles in the 125cc class was Youichi Ui in 2001.

- Marco Simoncelli is starting from the front row for the seventh time in 2005.

- Thomas Luthi is the top Honda qualifier in the 125cc class for the eighth time this year.

- Mattia Pasini starts from the front row for the fifth successive race.

- Debut winner from Donington, Julian Simon, is the only rider in the 125cc class to have scored points at each of the first eight races of the year.

- Following his win at Donington, if Julian Simon takes the win in Germany he will end a record sequence of forty-seven races without a rider in the 125cc class winning backto- back races, since Arnaud Vincent won at Donington and then Sachsenring in 2002.
