Mika Kallio secured his seventh pole position of the year in the final 125 qualifying session at Sachsenring. The Flying Finn was the only rider to break the 1'28 barrier in the minor class, beating Aprilia rider Marco Simoncelli by 0.217s.

Swiss youngster Thomas Lüthi was third fastest ahead of provisional pole setter Mattia Pasini, who only improved by 0.452s since yesterday. Donington winner Julian Simon will head the second row of the grid, alongside Tomoyoshi Koyama, Lukas Pesek and Gabor Talmacsi.

The third row of the grid will be formed by Hector Faubel, Sergio Gadea, Aleix Espargaro and Lorenzo Zanetti
