Red Bull KTM's Mika Kallio has beaten Mattia Pasini's provisional pole position time in the second free practice session, this morning at Sachsenring. The Finn clocked the fastest lap in 1'28.352 on his penultimate lap and finished ahead of Honda rider Thomas Lüthi.

Provisional pole holder Mattia Pasini was third fastest, 0.644 adrift from Kallio. Gilera's Manuel Poggiali was fifth fastest ahead of Aleix Espargaro, Fabrizio Lai, and Sandro Cortese.

Spaniard Alvaro Bautista was eighth fastest while Sergio Gadea and Marco Simoncelli completed the top 10. Gabor Talmacsi, who is currently leading the Championship jointly with Pasini, was 11th fastest ahead of Mike di Meglio and Julian Simon.
