Capirossi fastest in first free practice session

Ducati Marlboro's Loris Capirossi was fastest in the first free practice session this morning at Brno. The Italian rider topped the timesheets with a best lap of 1'59.626, ahead of Sete Gibernau and Colin Edwards.

Nicky Hayden was fourth fastest ahead of Valentino Rossi, who suffered an early tumble when he tried to avoid a collision with Camel Honda's Troy Bayliss. The Italian was able to remount quickly to finish fifth ahead of Marco Melandri.

Alex Barros was seventh fastest while Max Biaggi, John Hopkins and Alex Hofmann completed the top 10.
Along with Nobuatsu Aoki, third rider for the Suzuki team, another rider is back on the MotoGP scene for this weekend's race, Jeremy McWilliams. The Irishman is riding for Team Roberts, replacing Shane Byrne after KTM ceased its partnership with the outfit.
