Kallio back in business

Red Bull KTM's Mika Kallio maintained his form from the morning session to clinch provisional pole at the Brno circuit. The Flying Finn is aiming for his sixth consecutive pole position this weekend as he bids to knock Swiss youngster Thomas Lüthi off the top of the 125 Championship.

The usual pole-chasers were battling it out this afternoon in the first qualifying session, as Gabor Talmacsi and Mattia Pasini both topped the timesheets before Kallio stole top spot with a time of 2'08.875 on his last lap.

Talmacsi finished second fastest ahead of Pasini, while surprise package Sandro Cortese completed the front row of the provisional grid. Championship leader Thomas Lüthi secured fifth spot, ahead of Marco Simoncelli, Hector Faubel and Lorenzo Zanetti. Fabrizio Lai and Julian Simon completed the top 10.
