Kallio sets early pace

As the Championship resumes today at Brno after the month-long mid-season break, Red Bull KTM's Mika Kallio quickly found his normal pace and posted the fastest lap of the first 125 free practice session.

The Finn clocked the fastest lap with a time of 2'11.327 ahead of Hungarian teammate Gabor Talmacsi, who was just 0.134s adrift. Spanish rookie Aleix Espargaro was third fastest and best-placed Honda rider ahead of Aprilia's Mattia Pasini and Championship leader Thomas Lüthi.

Former World Champion Manuel Poggiali, who will make his 100th GP appearance this weekend, was sixth fastest aboard the Gilera. Lorenzo Zanetti made it into the top 10 with the seventh fastest time, ahead of local hero Lukas Pesek, Julian Simon and Tomoyoshi Koyama.
