Interesting facts and statistics ahead of the race

>Mattia Pasini starts from the front row for the sixth successive race. Pasini was leading the championship classification following the Dutch TT, but is now in fifth place after crashing in Britain and Germany.

>Following his win in Germany, if Mika Kallio takes the win in the Czech Republic he will end a record sequence of forty-eight races without a rider in the 125cc class winning back-to-back races, since Arnaud Vincent won at Donington and then Sachsenring in 2002.

>Marco Simoncelli crashed last year at Brno after qualifying on pole. After finishing second at the last race in Germany, he will be aiming to score back-to-back podium finishes for the first time in his Grand Prix career.

>The last three races in the 125cc class have been won by three different riders, Gabor Talmacsi, Julian Simon and Mika Kallio, all riding KTM machinery. Another victory for any of these three riders in the Czech Republic, will be the first time a manufacturer has had four successive wins in the 125cc class since Aprilia in 2002.

>Fifteen year-old Sandro Cortese's sixth place on the grid is a big improvement on his previous best qualifying result of 15th on the grid in Germany.

>Julian Simon is the only rider in the 125cc class to have scored points at the first nine races of 2005.
