Lüthi snatches pole position

125 Championship leader Thomas Lüthi clinched pole position in the final qualifying session at Brno. It's the second time this year that the Swiss rider has secured top spot on the grid, the previous time coming at the French GP where he also got his maiden GP win.

Lüthi will be joined on the front row by Mattia Pasini, who surpassed provisional pole holder Mika Kallio in the late stages of the session. The top 5 remained the same until the last ten minutes, but Kallio was unable to improve on his best time from yesterday afternoon. That was also the case for his KTM team-mate Gabor Talmacsi, who was edged off the front row by Italian Marco Simoncelli.

The Hungarian rider will head the second row of the grid ahead of Sandro Cortese, Fabrizio Lai and Lukas Pesek. Tomoyoshi Koyama and Raffaele de Rosa completed the top 10.
