For this weekend's Gauloises Ceske Republiky Grand Prix, Jakub Smrz' Arie Molenaar Racing Team got an extra boost with the presence of famous Czech cook Vaclav Smerda in the kitchen of their hospitality unit.

Smerda is well known in Czech Republic as the official cook of president Vaclav Klaus, and also of his predecessor Vaclav Havel. But his talents are much sought after all over Europe, as he also worked for the Spanish Queen, the Danish Royal family and various dignitaries throughout the continent.

"It's the first time I have come to the Grand Prix and it's a pretty exciting experience," he explained. "It's very interesting as I have never seen anything like this before. I obviously have a lot of work this weekend as we have over 130 guests over Saturday and Sunday, but I can enjoy some of the action."

"I like to watch how the mechanics work, it has a certain appeal for me as it's manual work, you have to be precise and meticulous, you have to make the most of what you have... it's a bit like cooking really!"
