Circuit of Catalunya increases its capacity

The Circuit de Catalunya has announced plans to increase its capacity by adding almost 5,500 seats to four grandstands and expand the general admission areas in order to make room for the ever-growing crowds that attend the MotoGP event. The work will boost the circuit's capacity by a total of 8,000 places and the grandstand seats will subsequently total 71,609.

Further improvements will see the construction of new toilets and modifications of the gates and footbridges from the parking areas. Around 106,000 MotoGP fans witnessed Valentino Rossi's win in this year's Gran Premi Gauloises de Catalunya, held on the outskirts of Montmeló, in the north of Barcelona.
