Ranseder set to regain German crown

Austrian rider Michael Ranseder claimed victory last weekend in the sixth round of the 125cc German Championship (IDM), allowing him to strengthen his lead in the standings and edge ever closer to regaining the title.

The Red Bull KTM ADAC Junior rider took his fourth victory of the season at the Oschersleben Arena, with German team-mate Stefan Bradl in third position. Ranseder's lead in the championship now stands at 19 points, with his closest challenger being Bradl. The next round takes place at the Sachsenring, scene of the tenth round of the MotoGP World Championship back in July, there Ranseder will get his first chance to seal the German crown.

Ranseder has taken part in four 125cc World Championship rounds this season. The first three all finished with notable 12th-placed finishes, but last week at Brno he was forced to retire after being brought down by a rider who had fallen in front of him.
