Faubel dreaming about a win in 2005

Hector Faubel is one of the few Spanish riders in the 125cc class to have achieved some outstanding results this season, but he admits things could have gone even better for him.

`I have to say that I've been very unlucky, but have also suffered from a lack of experience in 125s - a class I'd never tried before. I've got to recognise my problems and adapt to the new category,' explained the Aprilia rider.

`My bike has broken down three times this season, while at Mugello I was fighting for the win and crashed on the last lap when Mika Kallio fell in front of me. At Brno, I was in fifth, but I crashed again due to the rain. It's been a very difficult year for me.'

Faubel has enjoyed two podium finishes this term, but has now failed to finish the last three races in a row. The Master Aspar rider admits he has been surprised by the competitiveness of the class.

`At the beginning I thought that with some of the best riders going to the 250 class, the level would be lower. But all the races are very close and you need to push to the maximum if you want results.'

Faubel is looking to clinch his first victory of the season after coming within a whisker a couple of times this season. `I'm very confident and I want to be more consistent in this last part of the championship. My thought is always to be in the top 3 and I hope that I can win in one of the six GPs left´.
