Fortuna Racing riders undertake jet-ski adventure

Fortuna Racing´s MotoGP and 250 riders Toni Elías, Rubén Xaus, Jorge Lorenzo and Hector Barberá today took part in a spectacular jet-ski crossing from Dénia in Alicante to San Antonio on the isle of Ibiza.

The riders took advantage of one of their last days off before the fly-away races in Asia to wave goodbye to the summer with a genuine nautical adventure. The riders were accompanied by some of the leading names in the world of jet-skiing and a host of media representatives.

Elías, Xaus, Lorenzo and Barberá took almost four hours to complete the 60-mile journey that separates Dénia from the Balearic island. On their arrival in Ibiza, which was made difficult by poor weather conditions, all the riders expressed their joy at the experience, but conceded they had been left surprised by the toughness of the discipline.

`We have all tried jet-skis before, but this was something else,' explained Xaus. ‘To spend so much time on the machine, sometimes in choppy conditions, is really hard physically – especially on the legs and arms. But it was a fantastic experience´.

Elias, who is a big fan of water sports, added: `I like everything to do with the sea, it was a great day and I'd really like to do it again. The feeling you have aboard a jet-ski are very diffferent to a bike and it was just amazing´.
