Bautista aims to battle with the best

After a disappointing season on the whole, Alvaro Bautista is looking for an improvement in his results – starting with the forthcoming fly-away races. The Seedorf Racing rider has just his fourth-place finish at Assen earlier in the year to shout about, and admits he has found it tough going this year.

`There are not many races I really want look back on. The season has been very tough for me, the Aprilia bike is different to the one that I rode before and we're pushing to adapt it quickly. The pre-season was too short and we started the world championship with a lot of things still to do. The wet conditions in some races have also been an obstacle for me and the situation in general has been difficult,' he explained.

`However, I'm very confident for the next few races. We are making progress and I hope that results will come for me. The upcoming circuits suit me and last year I clinched some nice results there.'

The Spaniard from Talavera de la Reina wants to be battling it out amongst top riders, but has his own view on who will walk off with the 125 crown.

`I would be happy if I'm near the front in the next few races - fighting to be on the podium. I'll be content with that. I want that situation in the coming GPs - to have my bike fighting with the best ones.'

`There are no clear favourites for the title, competition is very tough, but I think Luthi is riding very well and Kallio also has a chance to get it because the KTM bikes have been very reliable this season.'
