Cheste increases capacity for MotoGP showpiece

The Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste is constructing a new grandstand which will hold 5,000 spectators to cope with the increased demand for this season's GP of Valencia. The circuit has already sold 97.8 percent of the tickets for this year's showpiece which will take place in November and bring the curtain down on the championship.

It means that with two months still to go until the race at Cheste, virtually all of the tickets that went on sale on July 1 have now been snapped up.

Eduardo Nogues, director general of the circuit, explained: `The sale of tickets was so fast that we had to make plans to use this extra grandstand. Since it was built in 1999, we have not had to put up a sign saying ‘sold out', but if things continue the way that they are currently then it is unlikely there will be tickets available during the actual Grand Prix weekend´.
