Pedrosa back on the pace

250cc World Champion leader Dani Pedrosa recovered from a tough first day to post the best time of the second free practice session on Saturday morning at Motegi. Pedrosa lapped in 1'52.885, just 0.071s faster than Jorge Lorenzo. Pedrosa damaged his left wrist and his back when he crashed yesterday and was only 14th in the first qualifying session.

Japanese wildcard Shuhei Aoyama took third ahead of his older brother, and GP regular, Hiroshi, while Alex de Angelis was the fastest Aprilia rider of the session in fifth.

Andrea Dovizioso and his team-mate Yuki Takahashi took sixth and seventh respectively. Casey Stoner, who is currently second overall, was eighth fastest ahead of Hector Barbera and Sebastian Porto.
