Lüthi fighting to be fit for Sepang

Just like 250cc series leader Dani Pedrosa, Thomas Lüthi will also be on the treatment table ahead of the Malaysian GP as he tries to recover from the dislocated shoulder he sustained in a spectacular 125cc crash on Sunday.

The Swiss youngster was lucky to escape from the race without a more serious injury, not to mention the 20 points he claimed for second place as the race was red-flagged due to his own crash. Lüthi faces a late test to determine whether he will be fit enough to defend his three-point championship lead over Mika Kallio.

At the Japanese GP the three podium finishers were all riding different types of machinery. This was the eighth time this year that three different manufacturers have been represented on the 125cc podium. At the Sepang circuit, both Honda and Aprilia have scored two victories in the 125cc class, with Derbi and KTM both having taken a single win.
