Several MotoGP riders warmed up on the eve of the Marlboro Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix by joining Powerboat World Champion Guido Capellini to experience a different kind of horsepower in Putrajaya, just 40 kilometres away from the Sepang circuit.

John Hopkins, Rubén Xaus, Makoto Tamada, James Ellison and Motegi winner Loris Capirossi enjoyed a thrilling outing on a two-seater powerboat, powered by a 350 bhp engine, capable of reaching 220 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5s.

Eight-time World Champion Cappellini was the perfect guide for what was another adrenaline fuelled blast for the riders ahead of the Malaysian GP. The 46-year-old, who was at a promotional event in Malaysia, is the current leader of the Powerboat World Champion after the third round of the Championship held last weekend in Singapore.
