The 15-year old rider has been confirmed along with two Chinese riders Li Zheng Peng and Wang Zhu as wild card entries for the Sepang race, Round 13 of the 2005 World Motorcycle Grand Prix Championship.

"I am very happy to have this opportunity to compete at the Malaysian GP. This will be my first time racing on a 125cc bike and my target is to make sure that I qualify," said Doni. Ahmad Mustafa, the Sepang International Circuit General Manager commented, "Doni is the biggest name in motorcycle racing in Indonesia now. And, based on his performance at the Asian Grand Prix, he definitely has the potential to go far in his motor racing career and to go to world class level".

Hailed from Jogjakarta, Doni won the Underbone 115cc category with one more round to spare after collecting a massive 195 points, chalking up seven victories from eight races.
