De Angelis signs new Aprilia deal

Aprilia Racing confirmed today that Alex de Angelis has signed a new two-year deal to ride for the factory's official 250cc team. The San Marinese moved up to the quarter litre class last year with the Noale-based factory and is now spearheading the official MS Aprilia Italia Corse team this year, alongside Simone Corsi.

"I'm really pleased to continue with Aprilia," commented de Angelis. "I started a new challenge with them and I'm now getting my best results. I'm sure we'll be able to keep progressing together."

Giampiero Sacchi, the Racing Manager of the Piaggio Group, added: "It's a sign of continuity, with a rider who has shown he knows how to work with us, so it's was only natural to confirm that we believe in him."
