Young guns back on track as Spanish series resume

The Spanish Championship resumes this week in Albacete where the fifth round of the season takes place. It will be an opportunity to see some 125 Grand Prix regulars in action, as well as the youngsters from the MotoGP Academy.

Mateo Tunez, who is now riding for the 125 Grand Prix Aprilia team run by Jorge 'Aspar' Martinez as Julián Miralles' substitute, will look for his fourth win of the season to take a decisive step towards the title ahead of Italian youngster Stefano Bianco.

The 125cc class will also see the MotoGP Academy riders continue their apprenticeship, including Efren Vazquez who is currently third overall, but also Britons Kev Coghlan and Bradley Smith who are looking to build on their respective fourth and fifth place finishes in the last round of the Spanish Championship. Meanwhile, Frenchman Jules Cluzel will make his comeback after injury.

Another youngster to watch out for will be American Garret Carter who clinched the USGPRU 125cc and 250cc titles last weekend at the Texas World Speedway in College Station.
