Portuguese delegates to bolster Turkish GP

As was the case at the first-ever Chinese Grand Prix this season, a number of members from the Estoril Motor Club – organisers of the Portuguese GP – will head to Istambul for this weekend's inaugural Turkish GP.

The delegation will number 40 in total, and have been invited to assess the new circuit as well as oversee and evaluate the organization and development of the event – the penultimate round of the season. The delegation from Portugal were invited due to the success they have made of the Portuguese Grand Prix in recent seasons. President of the Estoril Motor Club, Antonio Lima, admitted he was very happy and proud to have been invited back to another World Championship event.

"To have receieved the invitation from the FIM and Dorna to oversee management of the race and personnel at the Chinese GP was a display of confidence and satisfaction in the job we have done with the Grand Prix of Portugal. This new invitation makes me, and the Estoril Motor Club, even more proud," Lima declared.

"It's signifiacant that, discounting Laguna Seca, we were involved with the two new events on the MotoGP calendar. At the event in Turkey we will be represented by 40 people, twice as many as we had in Shanghai, and it says much about the standard of professionalism of our club."
