Checa drops Ducati quit hint

In Thursday afternoon's press conference at the Istanbul Park circuit, Carlos Checa dropped a broad hint that he will not continue his career with the Ducati Marlboro team in 2006.

"Everything seems to indicate that I won't continue with the team next year," said the Spaniard, who scored podium finishes in two of the last three races. "It's a shame because we're doing a pretty good job. Anyway, for now I have to focus on getting good results and maintain my current form until the end of the season."

"I have other options and some very interesting ones. I may be able to talk further about my future after this Grand Prix, but at the moment it looks like I won't stay at Ducati. Anyway, the most important thing for now is to get a good result on Sunday."

The Spanish rider's manager, Alberto Vergani, will attend the Grand Prix of Turkey in Istanbul as talks regarding Checa's future continue.
