Delayed flights trouble MotoGP paddock

The long-haul trip from Melbourne to Istanbul proved longer than expected for some World Championship teams who only re-joined the rest of the paddock on the eve of the inaugural Turkish GP after being delayed.

After last weekend's Polini Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island a number of flights from Australia to Turkey were delayed which proved rather troublesome for the teams who have a tight schedule to meet at this time of year.

The Spanish Aspar outfit couldn't fly as scheduled on Tuesday and were forced to extend their stay down under for an extra day, eventually arriving in the Turkish capital city on Thursday.

The Team Suzuki MotoGP and various other regulars from the MotoGP paddock also had a troubled trip, including Camel Honda's Alex Barros and Valentino Rossi's crew chief Jeremy Burgess, but all eventually made it to Turkey to join in with the build-up to the very first Grand Prix held at the Istanbul Park Circuit.
