Edwards finds his sea legs in Valencia

Yamaha Factory rider Colin Edwards has been welcomed by the crew of the ‘Desafio Español 2007' ahead of the final round of the 2005 MotoGP World Championship in Valencia.

The American rider sailed on one of the two America's Cup Class boats which recently completed the 2005 ACC season and which will compete in the forthcoming rounds of the Louis Vuitton Cup in a bid to clinch a challenger ticket to take part in the 32nd America's Cup in 2007.

"I really enjoyed the experience - I already had a taste of sailing last year, but this time it was really impressive," said Edwards. "The way the crew work together is incredible. It's all about co-ordination, they are obviously well-trained and very efficient."

125cc riders Pablo Nieto and Nico Terol also had the opportunity to hop aboard one of the of the Spanish team's vessels which has the same title sponsor as the Caja Madrid Derbi outfit. The ‘Desafio Español' ESP-51 training boat will be on display this weekend at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.
