Gadea sets blazing pace ahead of qualifying

The skies cleared up nicely for the second day of the Gran Premio betandwin.com de la Comunitat Valenciana and the 125cc riders enjoyed sunny yet cool weather for the second free practice session on Saturday morning.

Taking full advantage of the improved conditions, local hero Sergio Gadea, riding for the Valencia-based Aspar team, posted the fastest time with a lap of 1'39.825, beating the provisional pole time, set yesterday by Mattia Pasini, by 0.644s. Gadea was the only rider to dip under the 1'40 mark, as second fastest Mika Kallio completed the session 0.610s adrift of his best time.

Provisional pole holder Pasini was third ahead of Gabor Talmacsi and series leader Thomas Lüthi. Gadea's team-mate Héctor Faubel came home in sixth position, followed by Aleix Espargaro, Mike di Meglio, Tomy Koyama and Marco Simoncelli. Di Meglio and Simoncelli were two of the five riders who crashed this morning.
