Smrz savours chance to test MotoGP machine

Jakub Smrz yesterday joined a small group of journalists and ex-riders who got the opportunity to lap the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia on a selection of MotoGP bikes. The Kawasaki Racing team allowed the Arie Molenaar Racing rider to lap on one of its Ninja ZX-RR prototypes, thus allowing him to fulfil one of his ambitions and become the first Czech rider in World Championship history to ride a premier class machine.

"Like many people in the world, I wanted the chance to ride a MotoGP bike and today I got that chance. My dream is still to one day compete in the MotoGP class and today was a step towards achieving that," declared a delighted Smrz who normally races in the 250 class. "The feeling was incredible and I hope to have the chance to repeat it in the future. I might also test the Ducati and that would be even better as I would know more about how to handle the bike after today."
