MotoGP teams set for busy winter

The curtain fell on the 2005 MotoGP World Championship just a week ago at Valencia, but the teams are set for a busy winter having already planned various pre-season test sessions ahead of 2006's opening round at Jerez on March 26th.

Visits to Sepang, Phillip Island, Losail, Jerez and Montmeló already feature on the schedule of the main teams. At the end of the month, Sepang will stage the final test of the year for the Yamaha, HRC, Kawasaki and Suzuki teams before the winter test ban comes into effect. Meanwhile, Ducati will work at Jerez, but the Borgo Panigale-based outfit will join the Japanese factories in Malaysia when testing can recommence in late January.

A week after the first test of 2006, several teams will continue their testing programme at Phillip Island while Suzuki and Yamaha will head to Qatar by mid-February.

All the teams will regroup for the traditional Official Tests held at Catalunya and Jerez in March.
