Kallio targets new title challenge with KTM

Mika Kallio will continue his career with the Red Bull KTM team in 2006 and is already set for a rematch of the 2005 season which saw Tom Lüthi beating him in the title chase. The Flying Finn, who took four wins in 2005 to help KTM clinch the constructor title, was the best qualifier of the three classes with eight pole positions, and he hopes that a bit more luck will allow him to convert his usual pace into a successful title assault.

"It has been a pretty good season for me, with four wins and ten podiums," recalls Kallio. "The fact that I took eight poles showed that we had the speed. When I look back on the season, I think that maybe I just lacked a bit of luck to claim the title, but I hope next year will be even better."

"I signed for another two years with Red Bull KTM. I'm more than happy to continue to work with them, to be honest, I didn't consider seriously any other option. I will continue in the 125cc class next year, and the idea would be to move up to 250cc in 2007."
