African adventure ride to promote RfH and new charity

Craig Carey-Clinch and David French left UK on a motorcycling adventure and memorial charity ride to Africa, aiming to raise awareness for healthcare charities in developing countries through Riders for Health and a new programme, Motorcycle Outreach.

Craig and David's 42-day, over 7,000-miles ride is mostly on tarmac and take the duo across the Sahara Desert to the Riders for Health Headquarters in Gambia, West Africa and back to London again. They have reached Africa this week and enter the Saharan part of their expedition this weekend.

Supported by BMW, they ride the same F650 GS Dakar that will be entered in the 2006 Dakar Rally starting on 31st December 2005.

Motorcycle Outreach, which was launched at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC on October 27th, has been established firstly to raise financial support for the Indonesian Flores project.

Secondly, MoR is the continuation of late motorcycling humanitarian Simon Milward's vision to take the Riders for Health model of motorcycle-delivered health care logistics to new developing countries. MoR will work closely with Riders for Health to achieve this aim.
