The third and final day of testing at Jerez started with cloudy skies and light rain, but the riders enjoyed a drastic improvement in the weather by midday to work all afternoon long in sunny conditions with temperatures reaching 24ºC.

Fortuna Aprilia's Jorge Lorenzo clocked the best time of the day with a lap of 1'44.1 and was closely followed by team-mate Hector Barbera. Working on the 2006 version of the RSW250, Alex de Angelis clocked 34 laps and was third fastest ahead of Marco Simoncelli.

Derbi's Lukas Pesek and Nico Terol continued to work with their new material and lapped in 1'48.770 and 1'49.469 respectively, while Michele Pirro was the third 125cc rider riding today at the Spanish track.

Testing will resume next week at Jerez with the Ducati Marlboro team and various 250cc outfits including KTM, BQR and Team Scot all scheduled to take part.
