Nieto excited by new challenge with Aprilia

Pablo Nieto has signed with the WWC Worldwide Communication team for 2006, as he aims to regain his status as one of the front-runners in the 125 class after a disappointing season with Derbi.

The Spaniard, who will team up with Italian youngster Raffaele de Rosa, spoke to after completing his first test session on Aprilia machinery earlier this week at Jerez.

"I'm very happy, because it feels like going back home," said Nieto. "Even if we were only able to test for a single day this week at Jerez, because of the poor weather, the truth is that I feel very comfortable with the team. It's a small structure with a very friendly atmosphere which is a 100% behind me."

"Next year, we'll have to put everything on the table, because you have to make the most of the opportunities that come up. The years go by quickly when you realize that you've already had the majority of your riding career, and I'm still very motivated to get great results."

On Tuesday the official premiere of the 'Angel Nieto: 12+1' documentary film took place in Madrid and Pablo went on to explain how moved he was by the tribute to his father. "It was great, I think my father deserved it as one of the biggest names in the history of motorcycling. This tribute to his career is something very important for us."

Nieto should resume testing with the WWC Worldwide Communication team in December. The eldest son of GP legend Angel Nieto, Pablo made his debut in GP racing in 1999 and has managed just a single win in Portugal, in 2003.
