MotoGP Academy riders to sign off at Jerez

The last round of the Spanish 125cc Championship will take place this weekend at Jerez, giving the MotoGP Academy riders the chance to cap the year with another outing at a Grand Prix venue.

British youngster Bradley Smith will look to sign off in style after taking consecutive victories in the two previous rounds at Albacete and Valencia. He's currently the highest-placed MotoGP Academy rider in the Championship in third overall, while team-mate Efrén Vazquez holds fifth.

Smith still has a remote chance of winning the title, but the two main contenders are Stefano Bianco and Mateo Tunez. Bianco took the championship lead last weekend in Valencia but only holds a two-point advantage over Grand Prix regular Túnez.

Other riders to watch out for this weekend will be British starlets Dan Linfoot and James Westmorland, Stefan Bradl riding the KTM and Spanish riders Alvaro Bautista, Julián Miralles, Angel Rodríguez and Manuel Hernández.
