Pedrosa positive after going quickest in Sepang

MotoGP newcomer Dani Pedrosa was the fastest rider on the third and final day of testing at Sepang in Malaysia. The Repsol Honda starlet told motogp.com that he was pleased with the work done he has put in over the past few days as he continues his adaptation to the RC211V.

"I believe we have taken a big step forward in terms of knowledge of this bike," said the young Spaniard. "We still have to work and improve in various areas, but I'm satisfied as we were also able to test a bit in the wet - even if it wasn't much - and it's always good to get that kind of experience before coming back to this track for the Grand Prix."

"Those three days of testing were pretty tough because it was the first time that I have had to test three days in a row with such a demanding bike. I'm really exhausted now, but I'm pretty happy, all in all it was pretty positive."

Despite the fact the Spaniard has remained cautious over his chances in his debut season in the premier class, his pace in Malaysia confirmed his status one of the hottest favourites to take the rookie of the year award in recent times. He will be back on track with the Repsol Honda team in late January when the testing ban is lifted.
