The Ducati Marlboro team launched the GP6 version of the Desmosedici this week at the Jerez circuit in Spain and completed a successful shakedown test with their new MotoGP contender.

Over the three-day test, Ducati stalwart Loris Capirossi and his new team-mate Sete Gibernau racked up almost 1500 km on the 2006 bike, although the GP5 was also on hand for back-to-back testing.

After being hampered by bad weather on the first day, Capirossi and Gibernau made the most of the sunny conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday and were both pleased at the end of this final test of the year.

"It was a very positive test. We still have a long way to go before the beginning of the season, but we know in which direction we have to work thanks to the data we collected here," said Gibernau, who joined Ducati after three seasons on Honda machinery.

motogp.com now brings you exclusive video interviews of the riders and footage of the Desmosedici GP6 debut on the Spanish track.
