Team Suzuki's John Hopkins is enjoying the winter break in California after completing the last test session of the year in Malaysia last week, but never strays too far from the world of two-wheels and is scheduled to make his first appearance in the Sport Bike Night in Sacramento on Tuesday evening.

The Sport Bike Night is a regular date for Northern Californian bikers, featuring the chance to browse new machines, view racing videos and also displays for bike enthusiasts. Numerous MotoGP riders have attended the event in the past including Mick Doohan, Wayne Rainey, Kenny Roberts Jr and Colin Edwards.

"Until the next test in Sepang I can enjoy some free time back home in San Diego," expalined Hopkins. "I'm looking forward to testing the new bike in January, but for now it's a welcome break and I can relax a bit. I'll just do some training and ride a lot on motocross machines."

During the three-day test at Sepang, Hopkins worked on a prototype version of the 2006 GSV-R, and more specifically on a new chassis, with the main engine upgrades likely to be available when testing resumes in late January.
