Cárdenas set for Honda move

Colombian rider Martín Cárdenas is on the verge of joining the Honda BQR team for next season's 250cc World Championship as he is to take part in a test session with the Spanish team at the Valencia circuit on Thursday.

Cárdenas was scheduled to test at Jerez last week, but a shoulder injury, sustained in a Supermoto crash in Colombia, postponed his debut with the BQR outfit.

"Not being able to ride in Jerez cost me some time, but on the other hand, I have to console myself by thinking that it could have been worse. I would prefer to have this kind of problem at this time of the year, and not in the middle of the season," explained Cárdenas, who recently underwent surgery and had a plate fitted in his shoulder.

"I think it's a very positive move. From what I have seen the team works well and I believe it's one of the best privateer teams in the class, the bike is pretty good."
