Barros casts doubt over MotoGP future

Alex Barros has talked about his future in MotoGP on Brazilian television and admitted he could quit the World Championship. Speaking on the Redaçao SporTV show on the Globocast channel, the Brazilian veteran revealed that he had received various offers to leave the MotoGP class and refused to rule out a move to another category.

"I think I will have to take a decision this month," stated Barros, a seven-time GP winner. "Considering my age and my experience, I believe I can't be there just to fill the grid.".

The 35 year-old, who took victory at Estoril in Portugal at the beginning of the season, is currently recovering in Brazil after minor surgery. Barros made his GP debut back in 1986 in the 80cc class. He has been racing in the premier class since 1990, riding for Cagiva, Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda in that time.
