Hayden lands Tissot deal

Nicky Hayden is to become Tissot's first American ambassador and has already begun work with the official timekeeper of the MotoGP World Championship, appearing in a photo shoot held in his home town of Kentucky recently.

Tissot announced the deal at the end of last month, revealing that they would also be launching a special Nicky Hayden limited edition timepiece bearing his lucky number '69'.

The Swiss brand, which has been the official timekeeper of the MotoGP championship for the last five years, provides the official MotoGP watches, as well as sponsoring the Pole Position and the Pole of Pole awards, which are presented to the poleman of each Grand Prix and to the rider who has clinched the most poles over the season respectively.

"I got three watches this year and was so close at Brno for number four! Next year, I'll need a few more for sure," joked Hayden.

Having flown back home after the MotoGP tests at Sepang, the American recently made an appearance on SpeedTV and has also resumed training alongside his brothers Tommy and Roger Lee, who ride in the AMA series, as well as Supercross stars Ricky Carmichael and Ben Townley.
