Chaz Davies receives BBC award

250cc rider Chaz Davies received the 2005 BBC Wales Sports youngster award during the BBC Wales Awards Ceremony, sharing the honour with middle-distance runner Non Stanford, who this year won the junior mini-marathon in London.

In 2005, Davies raced in the quarter litre class with the Aprilia Germany team and took 13th overall with two tenth positions as his best results. The 18 year-old from Knighton, who's the only Briton in the 250cc class, still has to secure a ride for next season.

Wannabe racers can join the likes of Chaz Davies, Jeremy McWilliams, Leon Haslam and Leon Camier on track at Cartagena over the Christmas/New Year holidays – and help Riders for Health in the process.

Racedays are holding two events at the Cartagena circuit - on 27-31 December and 02-05 January - with all profits going to the official MotoGP charity. The trackdays include open pit-lane access, full timing facilities and 'fun' sprint and endurance races.
