Aprilia launch talent search

The Italian Motorcycling Federation and Aprilia have teamed up to launch the Junior GP, a new project aimed at spotting new Italian riders aged between 13 and 16.

Almost 100 hopefuls were gathered together a few days ago at the Magione circuit, near Perugia, to attend two tests sessions where they had a technical briefing, a test ride and an interview. GP riders such as Simone Corse and Marco Simoncelli were on hand to give advice to the youngsters alongside various managers and mechanics from GP teams.

After this first meeting, 30 riders will be selected to attend another test in February before the final cut enter the Aprilia Cup. The winner of this competition will be offered a ride in the 2007 Italian 125cc Championship on a RS125 Aprilia. This project should allow Aprilia to blood new talent in the World Championship.
