Cardoso and Hofmann head D'Antin team

Jose Luis Cardoso and Alex Hofmann will spearhead the new D'Antin MotoGP team next season. The Spaniard returns to the World Championship after a stint in World Suprbikes while Hofmann gets another chance to demonstrate his ability in the premier class after Kawasaki opted not to extend his contract at the end of last season, replacing him with Frenchman Randy de Puniet.

In an exclusive interview with motogp.com, team manager Luis D'Antin, revealed that the team would continue their partnership with Ducati. However, he refused to confirm details of who would be providing tyres for the team next term, insisting that he would reveal that information in a few details when he had more details.

"The program for 2006 is completely finalised and we are very happy as we have sealed agreements with sponsors and brands and we are now looking forward to next season with a very strong team," stated D'Antin.

"One of our main objectives was to have two riders. Hofmann is a very interesting rider who has already achieved some important results in MotoGP. He will also allow us to tap into new markets and he is German and that is something to bear in mind."

Cardoso will once again find himself working for D'Antin in the MotoGP class, although on this occasion he will do it on board a Ducati. "We know Jose Luis very well, we have worked with him a lot and believe he is returning to MotoGP at his peak as a rider. I think he will offer a lot on these four stroke machines," D'Antin added.
