Baldolini and Sekiguchi begin testing with Campetella Racing
The Campetella Racing team has kicked off its 2005 campaign this week in Valencia, with a two-day test session - the occasion for new recruits Alex Baldolini and Taro Sekiguchi to work with their new outfit for the first time this year.
In sunny but cold conditions, Baldolini improved his qualification time from last year's GP by one tenth of a second but suffered two crashes on the second day.
"I'm very happy with the team, the bike is fine although looking at yesterday's time I would have hoped for something more today but the two crashes have slowed me down quite a lot," said the youngster from Pesaro. "Anyway, this was our first test and therefore it has been useful mainly to get back on track and to get to know the new bike." New teammate Taro Sekiguchi also suffered a minor crash, but was positive about his first ride with the Aprilia.
"I need a bit more time to fully understand the bike and to learn everything there is to learn. In fact today's practice showed some improvements from yesterday's on," explained the Japanese. "Anyhow, I'm very happy with my new team and the new bike and once I've gained more experience and confidence I want to go fast!" The Campetella Racing team will resume testing next week at the Official Test held at Catalunya
