Bautista is incorporated into the ranks of the Aspar Team

Álvaro Bautista will be one of the biggest newcomers to the Aspar Team in 125cc for the 2006 season. The rider from Talavera de la Reina becomes the latest and final addition to Jorge Martinez Aspar´s team for the next World Championship. He completes the lineup of Héctor Faubel, Mattia Pasini, Sergio Gadea and Mateo Túnez, with which he will share the 125cc grid, and also the Sanmarino native Alex de Angelis, who will compete in 250cc.

After three seasons in the Seedorf Racing team, Bautista will face this project with a desire to replicate the string of good results that he achieved in 2004, when he finished seventh in the classification. What´s more, for 2006 he will again be riding an Aprilia, something which the Spaniard values very highly.

"I am really excited about this project of the Aspar Team and I will run again with an Aprilia that has given me such good results. I want to be at the front again"

"I just want to commence the practices as soon as possible to try to fit in with the team. The most important thing is to work and fight in order to start the season with the utmost security" he added.

The excellent class of rider that Aspar have assembled is an extra motivation for Bautista. "This season my teammates will be my main rivals on the track, and this is really good because it assures that we will all be motivated in order to be better every time"

For his part, Jorge Martinez Aspar is impressed with the incorporation of Álvaro Bautista and has confidence in his great potential. "His signing is a good move. We believe that he is an extremely good rider and he has demonstrated this in 2003 and 2004 with Aprilia. I hope that Álvaro has fun again on the bike and is able to demonstrate his true potential. I am sure that if he gives all the dedication and effort of which he is capable, then the good results will follow".
