Hofmann trains hard in the Swiss Alps

Alex Hofmann can these days be found finishing off his phase of physical preparation ahead of the start of pre-season testing, which will commence on the 23rd of this month in Sepang, and has chosen the alps as the location in which to follow an intense training regime.

The German rider, who is this season one of the new additions to the D´Antin Pramac Ducati team, makes use of the snow as a fundamental part of his exercise program, above all focusing on cross country skiing. Taking the roads through the snow also helps Hofmann to improve his resistance.

"In one of my last outings I started at 1035 metres and finished in Forstberg, rising up to 2215 metres. The screws in my ankle are already fixed and the physiotherapy I receive will allow me to recuperate fully" he explained.

Hofmann is conscientiously taking care of his physical state during these weeks of training, in order to arrive at the first practices with his new team in the best condition possible. Moreover, in 2005 he was dogged by various injuries, including a wrist fracture at the start of the season and another fracture of the ankle, after a fall in the Japanese Grand Prix, and the German hopes to shelve these problems completely in the coming season.
