Fortuna Aprilia to set to work next week

The Fortuna Aprilia 250cc team will perform a triple-session of practices in the Jerez circuit, which will serve as the resumption of pre-season testing. The Dani Amatriain-led team have pencilled in February as the time to carry out two new practice sessions, before the arrival of the Official Tests of Catalunya and Jerez.

The team manager has confirmed that he will be able to count fully on Jorge Lorenzo for this test in the Andalucian circuit, which will be carried out from the 23rd to the 25th of January, once he has overcome the clavical fracture which he suffered after a fall in Valencia last December.

"Jorge has followed the rehabilitation plan perfectly and his whole shoulder is recuperated. Last week he started to combine gymwork with specific bike training, like the supermotard" Amatriain explained.

One of 2006´s biggest novelties for the team in which Lorenzo and Valencian Héctor Barberá will compete is the change of saddle, moving from those that Honda utilised in 2005 to the machines of the Italian Aprilia factory, with which they will face the next World Championship.

"The objective is to continue with the programme of the previous test, with the riders continuing to clock up kilometres, but already we will start to count on the new parts which Aprilia offer us".
