Wind and rain blight second day of Jerez Test

Wind and rain blight second day of Jerez Test

Wind and rain blight second day of Jerez Test

Along with the abundant turnout at this week´s 125cc and 250cc in Jerez, there was also the appearance of a rather less welcome guest for the second day. Clouds, wind and rain have all arrived in force, particularly in the second half of a session extended until six in the evening (local time).

These adverse meteorological conditions have affected the 250cc riders most, and they struggled to equal or beat their times from yesterday. One of the fastest riders on day one, Alex de Angelis (Aspar Team), went round half a second slower than before.

In 125cc, the best recorded times all went to the Aprilia riders, headed by Ángel Rodriguez (Totti Top Sport) who broke the 1´48 barrier, untouched yesterday, together with the Aspar Team squad of Matia Passini, Álvaro Bautista, Sergio Gadea and Héctor Faubel.

A few falls marked this second day, although none with serious consequences. Roberto Locatelli (Team Toth), Martin Cárdenas (Honda BQR) and Michele Pirro (WTR Bauer USA) were those involved, all with new teams for 2006.
