Work continues for the teams at day two of Sepang Test

Under demanding climatic conditions, with temperatures at around 30 degrees and a level of humidity exceeding 60%, the MotoGP teams continue with their developmental program with their 2006 bikes at the Sepang Test´s second day.

John Hopkins has been the early bird of the day. Suzuki MotoGP have suffered a few setbacks with their new GSV-R, specifically with the power distribution and the electronics.

Sete Gibernau has also started his day early, driven by his intention to adapt as quickly as possible to the Desmosedici GP06. In contrast, yesterday´s fastest rider Valentino Rossi was one of the last riders to arrive at the Malaysian track. The Italian is today predicted to undertake a series of tyre tests with his Michelins.

The most interesting news up until now came from Tsutomu Ishii, HRC General Manager, who gave a press conference in which he revealed the doubts the Japanese factory have about the newest version of the RC211V in relation to the 2005 model. He revealed that Nicky Hayden is working with the latest version, which was debuted last year in Brno, and that the goal is to reach the level of their biggest rival and competitor, Valentino Rossi and Yamaha.

Ishii added that the Official Test of Catalunya, which takes place in early March, three weeks away from the start of the 2006 season, will be the deadline for determining and deciding which model they will use for the upcoming World Championship.
