Pasini and Bautista adapt well to Aspar Team

The Aspar Team go into the 2006 season with two exceptional 125cc riders in their midst. Mattia Pasini and Álvaro Bautista, two clear candidates for victories and the title, have already shown great synchronisation with their new team during the Jerez Test.

Pasini completed the practice sessions with the best overall time of the three days, ahead of the tightly packed group of World Championship riders who attended the Test.

"I have adapted perfectly both to my new team and my new bike. We have coordinated ourselves very well and I´m sure that this season we´ll do a good job together. Despite the wind, which bothered us slightly, I managed an extremely fast lap on the final day which leaves me very satisfied" said Pasini.

For Bautista, this week´s gathering was his debut with Jorge Martinez Aspar´s team, and also his return to the saddle of an Aprilia. "The plan for this session was to adapt to the team and the bike, but I have to say that from the first moment I have felt very comfortable with the people and the Aprilia. I am very happy with the result, and despite suffering a fall today I can go home content with the work that has been done. In Barcelona we will continue doing kilometres in order to arrive at the Official Tests with our batteries fully charged".

The Aspar Team, who will line up with up to five riders in 125cc, in addition to Alex de Angelis in 250cc, return to work on February 6th at the Catalunya Circuit.
